Portraits

How it works

  • Short on time? Book a 30 minute session at my studio in the Mile End or at a location of your choice within 5 km of the studio. This is a good choice for a standard portrait for professional or social use (yes, that includes dating profiles ;). The session includes:

    • 15 minute phone consultation on the type of portrait you’re looking for, location, and possible outfits

    • 30 minute photoshoot

    • 2 final retouched photos (additional photos $40 each)

    • Full gallery of retouched photos where you choose your final photos

    • Light retouching, including blurring blemishes

    • Delivery of final photos within 1 week

  • This is a full session that will give you time to get comfortable in front of the camera. The session takes place at my studio in the Mile End or at a location of your choice within 5 km of the studio. This is a good choice if you want to try out a wider variety of poses and looks. This session includes:

    • 15 minute phone consultation on the type of portrait you’re looking for, location, and possible outfits

    • 60 minute photoshoot

    • Time for 1-2 outfits

    • 3 final retouched photos (additional photos $40 each)

    • Full gallery of retouched photos where you choose your final photos

    • Light retouching, including blurring blemishes

    • Delivery of final photos within 1 week

    • For locations farther away: $50 transport fee

  • • Think about what your "money shot" will be – the photo you absolutely do not want to walk away from the session without. This could be a headshot or a photo of you "in action" (e.g., walking).

    • Prepare 1 or 2 outfits that communicate the look and feel that you want, and are quick to change into, e.g., an outfit with and without a blazer.

    • Have extra makeup and hair products on hand in case you need to do a touch up.

    • Other things you can bring include: a small mirror for touch-ups if we are shooting outside, a bottle of water, whatever else you need to be comfortable for the shoot.

    • I'll show you the photos as I take them, so you can get a sense of how they are and make sure there are portraits that work for you.

    • Optional: Take a look through past photos of yourself and let me know if there are angles and poses you prefer. If you're not sure, you can just save them on your phone and we can take a look together.

  • A lot of my clients are nonprofit or community workers, or those in a tight financial situation. Select “solidarity pricing” in the booking form and get a 25% discount. This works on a no-questions-asked basis but is on an honour system.
